NEWPORT, AR (KAIT) – A weekend fight results in one woman being arrested and another sustaining a gaping wound to the face.
On Saturday afternoon, Newport police officers found 30-year-old Shaunelle Arnold with a serious cut on the left side of her face. Arnold told officers she was involved in an argument with 30-year-old, Anisha Nevels. She says Nevels sliced her face open with a box cutter.
Arnold was taken to the local hospital and received thirty-four stitches to close the 10-inches long wound.
Officers later found Nevels and she was transported to the Jackson County Detention Center. She will appear in Newport District Court on Feb. 19th.
She is expected to be charged with first degree battery.
