JONESBORO, AR - Several weeks of planning and organizing will all come together this evening when Jonesboro and a handful of other surrounding communities will celebrate National Night Out.
Jonesboro will observe the nationally-recognized anti-crime night from 6 to 8 p.m. Other National Night Out festivities are planned in Bono, Lake City and Marked Tree.
Tonight will mark Jonesboro's fifth year of participating in the event. The event will be observed across town at several community sites, as well as several neighborhood block parties, many of which will feature free food and entertainment for both children and adults.
Community sites include Optimist Park on West Nettleton Avenue, Parker Park on North Church Street, the intersection of Belt & Marshall streets, the lot on South Caraway Road just south of Fox Meadow Elementary, downtown at Forum Park, the playground at the Nettleton Intermediate School, ASU Equine Center, and Stotts Park on Hope Street.
