I-40 closed in eastern Ark. to clear semi wreckage

Posted: Updated:

BRINKLEY, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say traffic on Interstate 40 in Prairie and Monroe counties will be detoured Wednesday morning as crews clear an overturned tractor trailer from the road.

The crash happened Tuesday afternoon at the 201 mile marker and stalled traffic for miles.

State police say eastbound traffic will be diverted at the Hazen exit at the 193 mile marker and be routed onto U.S. 70.

Westbound traffic will be diverted at the Biscoe exit at the 202 mile market and be routed onto Arkansas 38.

State police say eastbound lanes should reopen by 9 a.m. Wednesday. Westbound lanes will open at 10 a.m. or later.
