JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Winter weather aftermath continues to cause school closings and massive power outages across Region 8.

Entergy Arkansas is reporting hundreds of outages, mainly in Independence County.  Baxter County is also seeing several outages. The company states on their outage map that power will hopefully be restored around 6:00 p.m. in most locations.

Craighead Electric Cooperative Corporation of Jonesboro says Friday that approximately 5 members are experiencing power outages by the winter storm down from 1,400 yesterday. These outages are scattered in Greene, Craighead, and Lawrence Counties.
