Full weekend of Razorback sports on tap

FAYETTEVILLE (ArkansasRazorbacks.com) - The upcoming weekend features an abundance of opportunities for fans to support the Razorbacks live on campus and on national television with 17 events taking place through Sunday. The packed schedule is expected to bring a large number of visitors to campus, which will enhance the image of the University while also benefitting the local business community. Tickets for the home contests can be purchased by calling the Razorback Ticket Office at 1-800-982-HOGS (4647) or at ArkansasRazorbacks.com.

"This weekend is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our program and University to the country," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "The atmosphere our fans create in our venues is always electric and it motivates our student-athletes. The multitude of events on our campus gives everyone a chance to once again share the pride and passion we have for the Razorbacks with a national audience."

The weekend began in thrilling fashion Thursday evening with the men's basketball team extending its winning streak to three games by defeating Georgia inside Bud Walton Arena in a game broadcast on ESPN2.

A marquee event on campus this weekend is the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships, featuring Arkansas' No. 1-ranked men's team and No. 3-ranked women's team. The event begins Friday at 1 p.m. and continues through the weekend. Tickets are $35 for three-day reserved and $25 for three-day general admission or $20 for single-day reserved and $15 for single-day general admission. Friday's competition, as well as portions of Saturday and Sunday, will be streamed free on RazorVision. Beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, ESPN3.com will live stream the event. A tape-delay broadcast of the championships will air on ESPNU at 8:30 p.m. on March 13.

The top-ranked Razorback baseball team continues its season-opening homestand with a three-game series against Evansville. The Razorbacks and Purple Aces play at 3:05 p.m. Friday and 1:05 p.m.. Saturday and Sunday. Single-game reserved tickets are available for $10. All three games will be streamed live for RazorVision subscribers.

Bogle Park gets its first action of the 2013 season with the Arkansas Invitational, which begins at 12:30 p.m. Friday when Saint Louis plays Murray State. The Razorback softball team takes its first swings at 3 p.m. against ULM. Tournament action continues throughout the weekend, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday with the Razorbacks playing two games each day. Admission is free for youth 17 or younger and Arkansas students and $4 for adults. Games featuring Arkansas will be streamed live for RazorVision subscribers.

The 19th-ranked gymnastics team hosts Alabama on Friday evening inside Barnhill Arena. The meet begins at 7 p.m. and will be taped for broadcast on ESPNU on Feb. 28 at 4:30 p.m. and on ESPN2 on March 3 at 5 p.m. The match also will be streamed live for RazorVision subscribers. Reserved seating tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children and general admission is $6.

The women's tennis team begins its home schedule this weekend with two matches at the Billingsley Tennis Center. The Razorbacks play Ohio State on Friday at 5 p.m. and Tulsa on Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission is free.

The swimming and diving team wraps up its competition at the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships in College Station, Texas, Friday and Saturday. The finals from each day will be streamed live on ESPN3.com at 6 p.m., and a live stream of the preliminary rounds can be found at ArkansasRazorbacks.com at 10 a.m. each day. ESPNU will air a tape-delayed broadcast of the championships March 4 at 3 p.m.

Saturday, the men's basketball team plays at Florida at 6 p.m. on ESPNU. Sunday, the women's basketball team returns home for an important conference showdown against No. 11/10 Tennessee at 1 p.m. on SEC Network. All tickets for the Razorbacks' game against the Lady Volunteers are $5.
