Huckabee Promises Several More Arkansas Appearances by Bush Before Election

AUGUST 5, 2004 - Posted at 7:42 a.m. CDT

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Mike Huckabee says President Bush plans several campaign stops in Arkansas between now and the November election.

Huckabee told listeners to his monthly radio program yesterday that the Bush administration has assured him that the president will return to Arkansas.

President Bush has visited Arkansas three times so far this year.  Bush visited Arkansas eight times in the 2000 campaign and won the state's six electoral votes.

The Craighead County Republican Committee announced several weeks ago that it is working to bring the president to Jonesboro or northeast Arkansas, but no solidified plans regarding a Bush visit have yet been revealed.
