KENNETT, MO (KAIT)- Police are investigating several burglaries at homes and businesses that happened in Kennett in just the past few days.

The first one happened Thursday, Feb. 27, at 8 a.m. Kennett Police say Bullock Furniture on Independence Avenue had a broken glass door. Store owners are taking inventory of the all the damage and what was stolen while authorities search for suspects.

Kennett officers then responded to a disturbance at a home the very next day on the 300 block of W. 5th St. at 1:25 p.m. The victim told police someone had forced open the back door of the home, but nothing was found to be missing.

Then, officers responded to a shed break-in just 40 minutes later on the 2800 block of Quail Run. The victim told police several items were missing.

On Friday, Kennett Police responded to an attempted burglary at a store. Officers were told two female suspects fled from the store in an alley. They found and arrested one of the women, but couldn't find the other suspect.

29-year-old Rebecca Morgan was arrested in connection with the incident. More arrests are expected in this case.

Kennett PD have made arrests in connection with an ATM robbery. Officers arrested two people accused of trying to rob a man after he stopped at an ATM.

The victim told police he got cash out of the machine just before 1 p.m., Thursday. He says two men followed him and tried to take his money. Police say the victim fought back and the suspects ran off.

But the victim saw them get into a car and he called police. Officers arrested James Spain of Hayti and Cletus Harris of Sikeston.
