From Williams Baptist College
For the second week in a row, the Williams Baptist College duo of Karisa Hendrix and Shelby Anderson has swiped American Midwest Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week honors.
Hendrix, last year's AMC Pitcher of the Year, had another stellar week on the mound. She pitched three complete games and one relief appearance during the week. The flamethrower struck out 24 batters in 19 innings of action, allowing just five hits and two runs. This week brings her season record on the mound to 6-1.
A sophomore from Mountain Home, Ark., Shelby Anderson helped the Eagles to a 6-0 week from the plate and mound again. The 6'0'' pitcher hit three homeruns in those six contests, going eight for 16 from the plate with six runs scored and eight RBIs. She was also walked five times and pitched a no-hitter as well.
The 14th ranked Eagles return to the diamondTuesday when they head to Central Baptist College for a doubleheader staring at 2 p.m. They will host CBC for doubleheader Saturday at 12:00 noon at the WBC Softball Field.
