JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Arkansas State Red Wolves men's basketball advanced to the semifinal round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament late Saturday night with an overtime win against Troy.
The Red Wolves beat the Trojans 68-63 with an extra period. Arkansas State appeared to be on the verge of victory at the end of regulation but a costly 5 second violation gave Troy the ball back in time to make the game tying two point shot to send the game into overtime. The Red Wolves were able to outlast Troy in the free basketball session and were able to stay solid from the charity stripe to pull out the 5 point win.
Arkansas State now moves on play Western Kentucky in the semifinals on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. in Summit Arena at Hot Springs. Western Kentucky is the 6 seed and coming off a big win against 3 seed South Alabama on Saturday.
