Brady supports MTSU for NCAA At-Large bid

HOT SPRINGS, AR (KAIT) - March 17th will be a stressful day for Middle Tennessee head coach Kermit Davis and his Blue Raiders team. After being eliminated in upset fashion by 4 seed Florida International on Sunday, the Blue Raiders only hope of getting in the NCAA tournament is an at-large bid by the selection committee.

Until losing Sunday night, the Blue Raiders held the longest winning streak in the nation winning 17 straight. They were the favorite by almost everyone to win the Sun Belt Conference but fell short of that goal.

Middle Tennessee also fell short of their goal last season after a solid regular season and being kicked out in the quarterfinals by Arkansas State. They didn't receive an at-large bid in 2012 but are more confident about this years chances. "I think we are in this year, I didn't last year but after the streak and everything I feel like we deserve to be there," said Davis.

The rest of the Sun Belt Conference has also expressed their belief that MTSU deserves a chance to dance. "If y'all aren't pulling for Middle to get in, the you don't know what you're talking about," said Arkansas State head coach John Brady after falling to Western Kentucky on Sunday.

The Selection Sunday Show will tell the Blue Raiders their fate. It airs on March 17 on CBS.
