    JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A memorial fund has been created for an 11-year-old girl who died after she became trapped beneath a pipe in a water-filled ditch for 20 minutes.

The Kennett Police Department released the following crime report on Monday, March 11.

On March 8 around 2:25 p.m., officers say they arrested 48-year-old Douglas Dye of Portageville, Mo. for driving while intoxicated. On the same traffic stop, police say they also arrested 49-year-old Karen Moody for driving while intoxicated. Police say the drivers switched places before being stopped, and both were seen driving. Dye was also charged with no operator's license and both were taken to the Dunklin County Jail awaiting formal filing of charges.

On March 9 around 1:04 a.m., Kennett police arrested 29-year-old Emanuel Wheeler after a short car and foot chase. Officers say they chased Wheeler as he kicked in the door of a home in the 1000 block of Whitney Street, and after a struggle, Wheeler was arrested. Police say they went back and searched the area where Wheeler was seen throwing items, and recovered a handgun and controlled substances. Wheeler was booked into the Dunklin County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine and methamphetamine), unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and resisting arrest.

On March 9 around 6:17 p.m., Kennett police say they were dispatched to WalMart for a shoplifter allegedly running from store associates. Officers arrested 23-year-old Lubertha McBride from Hayti, Mo. McBride was charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest and held at the Dunklin County Jail awaiting filing of formal charges.

On March 10 around 1:27 a.m., Kennett police were dispatched to WalMart in reference to someone hitting a vehicle and leaving. Police say they were able to stop the suspect vehicle on Highway 25. Joseph D. Passley, 23 from Dexter, Mo., was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle and felony resisting arrest. Passley was held at the Dunklin County Jail awaiting filing of formal charges.

On March 10 around 3:26 a.m., Kennett police were dispatched to Ultimate Arcade in reference to an unwanted guest. Police say they arrived and arrested 29-year-old Travis K. Turner from Kennett, Mo. on a Dunklin county warrant for non-support. Turner was booked into Dunklin County Jail on $300 bond.

On March 11 around 12:30 a.m. Kennett police arrested Michael S. Sherfield, 23, on an outstanding City of Kennett warrant for shoplifting, issued by Judge Mike Mower. Police say Sherfield posted a $49.50 cash bond and was released to appear in the Kennett Municipal Court.
