Oregon Co. man dead after crash, 1 injured

DONIPHAN, MO (KAIT) – A Southeast Missouri man has died following a two vehicle crash near Doniphan.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the David L. Crews of Couch, 63, was killed after a head-on collision Thursday night around 10:15. The wreck happened on Missouri State Highway 142, six miles west of Doniphan as Crews was traveling west.

The highway patrol crash report states, Melissa R. Richmond of Doniphan was driving east when her SUV crossed the centerline and hit the other car head on.

Richmond's injuries were listed as moderate and she was taken to a Ripley County hospital.

Crews was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt, Richmond was not according to the crash report.
