STEELE, MO (KAIT) - Authorities in Pemiscot County make an arrest after a week long investigation where a man was shot in the arm.
According to Steele Police Chief Billy Joe Stanfield, Timothy Johnson of Blytheville was arrested in connection with the shooting on March 16. He was arrested on a warrant charging him with two counts of first degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.
Steele police received information Johnson was hiding in a home on Barnes Street. Chief Stanfield along with Pemiscot County Sheriff's deputies went to the home and arrested Johnson without incident on March 24.
According to Steele police, officers discovered a large crowd around Bates Street the day of the shooting and found a man shot in the right arm.
Police say the 35-year-old victim was treated at the scene by medical personnel.
Johnson is in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
