Some local drivers have feared that a bridge collapse like the one in Washington State this week could happen closer to home. People have been particularly fearful of the aging Black River Bridge that connects Black Rock and Portia on U.S. 63 in Lawrence County.
JONESOBORO, AR (KAIT) - The surprise Abigail Young got this year for her 13th birthday was one she never would have expected.
"I don't really like surprises. Well, I do, but I kind of don't," she said of her surprise party at Divalicious Parties in Jonesboro. "I saw my sister that I haven't seen in forever."
Abigail's sister Tiffany hasn't seen her family in seven months because Tiffany was stationed on Minot, North Dakota. "I went into the Air Force whenever she was four," Tiffany said.
Tiffany came to Jonesboro be with her parents, grandparents and sister for the celebration, and introduce the family to her infant daughter. "Living so far away has kind of made it difficult for us to be as close as we are."
"Being in the air force it has kind of put a strain on our relationship, but it never really made us any less close," Abby said.
