JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The rain throughout Sunday didn't keep people from Region 8 to celebrate their inner Irish!
People headed downtown with all sorts of green, to have all sorts of fun. A Run/Walk was held just outside of Brickhouse Grill.
Participants were encouraged to bring green apparel and their *green* dogs.
Amanda Herget with help of a committee, directed the event and she says today was a success.
"Mainly we're just glad to be a part, bring people down town, be festive and get in the mood of saint patty's day and just have Sunday Funday", says Herget.
All the proceeds went towards the ASU's Beck Pride Center, known for helping out our wounded but honorable veterans.
Rick Christian was among the runners and he says he enjoyed the 'shamrock shuffle'
"It was good to see all the people and all the animals and all that stuff. It's always good when you get to help out an organization like the Beck Pride Center, the veterans, and we're just happy to be a part of it", said Christian.
The event started at two in the afternoon and despite the weather, over seventy people were still able to make the shuffle.
