One person has died in a crash near Harrisonville, MO, Thursday evening. The crash happened on Missouri Highway 7 and Walker Road. It involved a car and a tractor-trailer. Harrisonville is in Cass County.
Savannah Nash celebrated her 16th birthday last week. She died Thursday when her car slammed into a semi while she was texting during her first time driving by herself.

NEWPORT, AR (KAIT) – Two Newport men have been arrested during an investigation into a shooting on Monday night.
According to the Newport Police Department, officers were called to Beech Street in reference to a suspicious person. A man was found at Laurel Street who turned out to be the victim of a shooting.
Police say Marvin Hoggan told officers he had been at his home on Leona Street when Leotis Gist Jr. and Nico Cox came inside to confront him about a previous dispute.
Hoggan claims Cox told Gist to shoot the him, and then Gist fired three times with a 9MM handgun, according to police.
Police say Hoggan was hit in the buttocks and a bullet "exited his groin area" during the shooting. He was taken to a local hospital then transferred to a Little Rock hospital. Hoggan's injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, according to police.
On Tuesday, Gist and Cox were arrested. Bond was set at $150,000 each on Wednesday.
Both men will appear in Jackson County Circuit Court on April 22.
