BLOOMFIELD, MO - A well-known southeast Missouri farm family has suffered a loss.

The Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Benjamin Kruse of Dexter died over the weekend in an accident involving an all-terrain vehicle.

A Dexter funeral home identifies Kruse as the son of long-time Missouri Farm Bureau President Charlie Kruse, a graduate of Arkansas State University.

The accident happened as Benjamin Kruse was driving his ATV through a wooded area near Bloomfield.  The vehicle ran off a river embankment and and overturned in the Castor River Waterway, trapping Kruse underneath.
