1 dead, 3 injured in crash involving a tractor and train

WALDENBURG, AR (KAIT) - One person is dead and three others are injured after a train hit a tractor near Highway 49 Tuesday morning.

According to Arkansas State Police, the driver of the tractor was killed in the crash. Three people on the train were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the driver of the tractor was 25-year-old David A. Henderson of Waldenburg. The three injured were 33-year-old Spencer Buchanan of Benton, 39-year-old Phillip Thomason of Malvern, and 26-year-old Zackary Stine of Cabot.

Police say the crash happened at the Tower Road crossing just after nine in the morning. The crossing does not have railroad signals.

The Union Pacific train did sustain damage to the front and railroad representatives were at the scene.
