Arkansas State University's Brandon Peterson and Trey Finn have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 24 Second Team for the 2012-13 season. The all-district first and second teams were announced this Tuesday (March 26) by the national organization.

The two ASU senior student-athletes were part of the District 24's six-member second team, which was selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC. Peterson and Finn are among 243 student-athletes comprising 24 districts and as a result are now eligible for selection to NABC Coaches' Division I All-America Team.

Peterson, a 2012-13 All-Sun Belt Conference (SBC) Second-Team pick, averaged 10.5 points (325 pts.) while leading the Red Wolves at 9.7 rebounds per game (301 rebs.) and in blocked shots with 40 total. A starter in all 31 ASU contests, Peterson scored double-figures in 20 games this season and compiled 16 double-digit rebounding performances in a team-high 1,028 minutes of action. Peterson, who earned 2013 SBC All-Tournament Team recognition, registered a squad-best 12double-doubles this campaign. Peterson currently is listed 22nd among the NCAA Division I national statistical leaders in rebounds (9.7 rpg.) while ranking 33rd indouble-doubles (12) and 164th in blocked shots (1.29 bpg.). The 6-8, 217-pound forward was tabbed as the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week this season (Feb. 18).

A 2012-13 All-Sun Belt Conference Third-Team selection, Finn averaged 10.4 points (312 pts.) and 4.9 rebounds (146 reb.) as a starter in 30 contests. He also tallied 53 three-point field goals while distributing 51 assists and 42 steals this season. Finn, who was recognized as the SBC's Playerof the Week (Feb. 4), recorded double-digit points in 16 contests while leading or tying for top team scoring honors on eight occasions.

This season, Peterson and Finn became the most recent players to reach the 1,000-points milestone in ASU history. Peterson would close out his collegiate career with 1,098 points to rank 19th on the Red Wolves' all-time scoring list while Finn netted a program 16th-best 1,165 points.

The pair helped Arkansas State post a 19-12 overall record this season, which included a first-place 12-8 mark in the Sun Belt Conference's West Division. The 19 victories by ASU head coach John Brady's team represented the program's most since the 1997-98 campaign (20-9 record) while the Red Wolves claimed their second divisional title in the last three seasons.

The NABC, which was founded in 1927 and currently has almost 5,000 members comprised primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches, recognizes the nation's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes.
