The start of the 2013 John Brady Basketball Camps is
rapidly approaching and applications are now being accepted for those
boys who desire to take their game to the next level. The John Brady
Basketball Camps will be held throughout this June on the campus of
Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark.
Four different camps for youth basketball players will be offered, starting with the first of two Little Wolves Camps. The initial Little Wolves Camp is set for June 3-5 while the second and final Little Wolves Camp is scheduled for June 17-19. The High School Team Camp will be held on June 15 and the final summer camp clinic, the Individual Skills Camp, is slated for June 24-27. All camps will be held at the ASU Basketball Practice Facility, located on the second floor of the HPESS (Health, Physical Education and Sports Sciences) Building.
"We are expecting another excellent summer of basketball camps again and are coming off of our most successful season in 15 years," said ASU head coach John Brady. "We captured the Sun Belt Conference West Division regular-season title for the second time in three years and our 19wins this season marked the most victories since the 1997-98 season. There is a great deal of excitement surrounding our basketball program right now and we look forward to teaching and developing the young, up-and-coming basketball players of the Jonesboro community and Northeast Arkansas region. We hope to see you all in June!"
The Little Wolves Camp, which is open to boys entering grades 1-4, will be conducted June 3-5 and June 17-19. Cost for the camp is $125 per individual. The Little Wolves Camp will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. (CT) each day of the camp in the ASU Basketball Practice Facility at the HPESS Building on the ASU campus. Each Little Wolves Camp participant will receive a drill workbook and a t-shirt, but lunch will not be included.
The High School Team Camp will take place on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (CT) at the ASU Basketball Practice Facility. The Team Camp, which is $200 per team, is open for boys preparing to compete in the varsity and junior varsity level. Teams will be guaranteed a minimum of three games during the 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (CT) time slot.
An Individual Skills Camp is slated for June 24-27 and is open to boys entering grades 5-12. Cost is $215 a person, which includes each camper receiving a drill workbook, a t-shirt, and lunch. The Individual Skills Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (CT) per each day of the camp.
All camp participants will receive proper stretching and warm up along with individual skill instruction in dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting, and etc. by the Arkansas State University coaching staff and members of the NCAA Division I ASU men's basketball team. Camps will also feature contests and instruction on team defense in addition to three-on-three and five-on- five games. Campers will be grouped according to age and grade.
