Authorities Capture Murder Suspect that Escaped from Crittenden County Jail

WEST MEMPHIS, AR - West Memphis police today captured a man who escaped from the Crittenden County jail on Sunday.

Twenty-three-year-old Corey Andre Mosley was due to appear in court this week for a trial on capital murder, aggravated robbery and kidnapping charges.

Jail administrator Reginal Abrams said Mosley was found to have escaped from the lockup through a hole in the roof of the jail.

Mosley was to go on trial for the April 2003 slaying of Althia Wheeler, who was found in West Memphis, in the trunk of her burning car.

Officers started looking for Mosley early this morning.

They captured him in the early afternoon., about 12:30 or 1 p.m.

Mosley had been in the state prison at Brickeys on a parole violation while he was awaiting trial.
