MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) – A Mountain Home woman has been arrested and charged with first degree murder.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Christina Maria Scroggin was arrested and charged in the murder of 24-year-old Raul Segura Turrieta of Mountain Home.

A 911 call was received by the sheriff's office around 5:50 a.m. Tuesday where a woman said "she may have killed someone." Deputies went to 244 County Road 343 and found the body of Turrieta inside the trunk of a vehicle.

An autopsy performed on Wednesday revealed that Turrieta died after being shot three times in the head and chest.

Police found a .38 caliber revolver inside Turrieta's vehicle when it was searched, but the sheriff's office is waiting on the ballistic results results to determine whether it was the weapon used.

During the investigation, police learned that Turrieta and Scroggin had been in Little Rock on Monday.  Investigators are interviewing possible witnesses to determine a timeline of the events that lead to Turrieta's death.

Bond for Scroggin was set at $1,000,000 and her next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, April 4.

The investigation is ongoing.
