LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas students continue to show improvement in the ACT college entrance exam, but scores are still a little below the national average.

Scores in Arkansas rose by a tenth of a point but remain a half-point below the national average.  Arkansas students improved their scores for the third consecutive year.

In newly released results, Arkansas students scored an average 20.4 on the test out of a possible 16.  Nationally, the average was 20.9.

The test measures English, math, reading and science.  Of those subjects, Arkansas students improved or remained the same compared to last year in all areas except English.
