Man sent to hospital after car crashes into business

GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – An elderly man was sent to a Jonesboro hospital after the car he was driving crashed into a Greene County business.

According to Arkansas State Police, the man was driving north on Highway 49 around 5:20 Tuesday evening when he ran off the road and crashed into the Home Place Furniture Store.

ASP says they believe a medical condition caused him to black out. He was taken to the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. His condition is not known.

No one was in the area of the building where the crashed happened and ASP says no one else was injured.

We're told the crash caused several thousands of dollars in damage to the building.
