From Arkansas State University
The Arkansas State women's bowling team is ranked fourth in the April version of
the National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll.
ASU is 86-28 on the year and has already set the school record for regular season wins. The Red Wolves received 604 points, which was 85 points behind No. 3 Central Missouri's 689 points and six first place votes. Nebraska is ranked second with 694 points, while defending NCAA champion Maryland-Eastern Shore took the top position for the first time this season with 724 points and 15 first place votes.
Vanderbilt is ranked fifth to round out the top five. The Commodores finished with 550 points, which was 54 points behind Arkansas State. Other NCAA tournament participants Sam Houston State (478 points), Wisconsin-Whitewater (468 points), and Fairleigh Dickinson (408 points) finished in sixth, seventh, and eighth respectively.
A-State is set to compete in the NCAA tournament April 11-13 at Super Bowl Lanes in Canton, Mich.
