Search Continues for Missing Girl

GILMORE, AR - Another day passed without a sign of seven-year-old Patricia Miles.

Investigators had started out hopeful yesterday but the tone changed by the end of the day, the fourth spent looking for the little girl from Gilmore.

Patricia has been missing since Sunday morning, when she rode her pink bicycle to a corner grocery store for sunflower seeds and a soda pop.  Her bicycle was found in a cornfield the next day, about 100 yards from her shoes.

Searchers plan to resume their efforts this morning.  They've been across farmland, fields and in ditches in Crittenden, Mississippi and Poinsett counties.  They've used search dogs, boats, and a helicopter.

A family friend has been arrested on a kidnapping charge and was jailed in Marion.  But Jo Ann Buchanan has refused to cooperate, and her arraignment yesterday was postponed until she hires an attorney.
