NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

A North Las Vegas gun shop is auctioning a firearm it claims was sold to the store by the ex-Los Angeles police officer who was the subject of a tense manhunt in California.

Bargain Pawn said it bought a revolver from Christopher Dorner on January 15 at a price of $50.

The shop also has images from a surveillance camera that show Dorner selling the gun, and a signed sale ticket by the former Las Vegas resident.

The sale was made just mere weeks before a killing spree began throughout southern California, of which Dorner was suspected. In all, Dorner was connected to the slayings of four people in a spree that began Feb. 3.

"My son recognized him when all the stuff started to happen, said Bargain Pawn's co-owner George Bramlett. "He says, 'I think we bought a gun from him.'"

Dorner, who also had a $1 million bounty for his capture, eventually died during a standoff with authorities in Big Bear Lake, CA.

As of Friday evening, the Astra 960 revolver had 21 bids with the highest at $615, according to the auction site.

The shop said it will donate proceeds to the victims' families or an injured police officer's fund.

Jason Jacobs, a customer at the store, said he would not bid on the gun, but understands that there is a market for criminal memorabilia.

"If it's going to help the officers that were killed, it's a good thing," he said.

In February, FOX5 revealed the world of "Murderabilia," in which items used or created by notorious felons are sold to the highest bidder.

"I think it's crazy - absolutely crazy," said Las Vegas resident Despina Lablanc. "We don't want it on the street."
