From the Southeastern Conference
Tiffany Daniels, currently the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs at Georgia State University, has been named Associate Commissioner with the Southeastern Conference, Commissioner Mike Slive announced Friday.
Daniels will serve as the Senior Woman Administrator for the SEC, will act as the primary conference liaison to the SWAs from each of the league's 14 institutions, and will have administrative oversight of volleyball and an additional sport to be assigned.
Daniels, a University of Georgia graduate, understands the SEC from the perspective of a student-athlete, having lettered for the Lady Bulldogs from 1993-97 as part of two SEC Championship teams and two NCAA Final Four squads.
"We are thrilled to welcome someone of Tiffany's experience, both as an administrator and as a student-athlete, to the important role of Associate Commissioner and Senior Woman Administrator with the SEC," Slive said. "We are very familiar with her work and know she will be a great addition to our staff."
At Georgia State, Daniels has overseen all external areas, including marketing and promotions, ticket operations, corporate sales, communications, licensing, merchandise and broadcasting.
"To have the opportunity to continue my career in the conference where I played as a student-athlete is an incredible honor," Daniels said. "I look forward to working in the nation's premier conference and working with the league's talented coaches, administrators and student-athletes."
Prior to joining the senior-level staff at Georgia State, Daniels served as the Director of Business Development at the Georgia Dome from 2006-2011. She was responsible for seeking and negotiating new business ventures for the Georgia Dome, while also working with corporate sales and activation.
Daniels previously worked with Atlanta Spirit, LLC from 2001-05 in several roles, including director of group sales for the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers and Philips Arena. From 1998-2001, she worked in ticket sales for RDV Sports in Orlando, Fla., with the Orlando Magic and Orlando Miracle.
Daniels earned a B.A. degree in management information systems from the University of Georgia and an M.S. degree in sport management from the University of Massachusetts.
