Sheriff: Two arrested for Theft of Property

CROSS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – The Sheriff's Department responded to a call referencing someone cutting up tools from a tractor on Monday.

According to the Cross County Sheriff's Department, Deputy May was dispatched at eight in the morning to a field road just west of the curve on County Road 637. The caller reported someone cutting up a bush hog mower attachment from a tractor.

Deputy Terry May investigated the incident and was able to recover more items.

30-year-old Brett Enzor Simmons and 39-year-old James Allen Smith are both from Wynne and are being charged with Theft of Property, Class D Felony, 1st Degree Criminal Mischief, and Criminal Trespassing.

They are both being held at the Cross County Jail with a bond set at $15,000 for each of them.
