CANTON, Mich. (ASU) – Arkansas State junior bowler Amanda Labossiere was named to her second straight NCAA All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament Saturday night.
Labossiere finished with a total pinfall of 1384 in seven matches on Thursday which gave her an average of 197.7 per match, which was 13th in the field. Her average, coupled with her clutch performance during Friday's bracket play clinched her selection on the team. She bowled first in each match Friday and was instrumental in leading ASU to the semifinals of the tournament.
During last season's NCAA Tournament, Labossiere had a 206.1 average and filled the anchor position for A-State. She made two all-tournament teams during the regular season at the Tulane Collegiate Invitational and the Holiday City Classic.
"I'm very proud of Amanda, especially winning the award two years in a row," said ASU bowling coach Justin Kostick. "This proves she can bowl in pressure situations and stepped up when the team needed her. Hopefully she'll carry this momentum into her senior season."
Arkansas State finished the season with a record of 91-34, the most wins in school history, and made the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament.
