Gosnell's Zach Perrin has receiving TD in Henderson State Sporty Bowl

ARKADELPHIA (HSUSports.com) - In 2012 Henderson State led the nation in scoring offense averaging nearly 51 points per game. The  Reddie offensive units continued that trend as 75 points were scored in Sporty Bowl XII with the Red team rallying for a
38-37 win over the White team Saturday at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium.

Henderson's annual spring game drew one of the largest crowds to attend the annual event and they were treated to one of the best spring games in school history with the two teams combining for nearly 1,000 yards of total offense.

The White team started the scoring as Coach Mike Volarvich reached into his bag of tricks as his club executed the double-pass to perfection with Mark Czaus connecting with Darius Davis for a 48-yard score.

The Red team responded as Ryan McDonald broke loose for a 20-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7.

Dallas Hardison then led the White team down the field and hooked up with Zach Perrin for a 14-yard score.
However the point after was missed and the score stood at 13-7.

The White team extended the lead to 20-7 as Daniel McCoy capped off long drive with a 1-yard run.
Addison Allen booted a 29-yard field goal for the Red team just before the end of the first half to make the score 20-10 at the break.

Hardison opened the second half with a 73-yard scoring strike to Davis to push the White team lead to 27-10.

After Rodgers led the Red team down field and threw a 10-yard touchdown pass, Hardison answered with a 16-yard scoring strike of his own to put the White team on top 34-17 late in the third quarter.

Rodgers then rallied his team as he connected on a pair of touchdown passes with Robert Jordan of 42 and 12 yards to make the score 34-31.

Allen, who was the designated place-kicker for both teams, hit a 38-yard field goal with 1:02 to play in the game to extend the White team lead to 37-31.

Rodgers then went to work as the Red team began the final drive from its own 35. Rodgers connected on 6-of-7 passes including four completions to Robert Jordan to move the ball down to the White 10.

On the final play of the game Rodgers connected with Kenrick Burns for the game-tying score as time expired.

The pressure was put on Allen to convert the point-after and he split the uprights to give the Red team the win.

The redshirt freshman Hardison was impressive, completing 25-of-37 passes for 301 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.

Rodgers, the 2012 GAC Offensive Player of the Year, ended the game completing 42-of-55 passes for 402 yards and four touchdowns.
