FAYETTEVILLE (KAIT) - Hunter Mickelson kept his Arkansas commitment in 2011 even after the departure of John Pelphrey. Today he has decided to leave Fayetteville.
According to Richard Davenport of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Mickelson will transfer.
Hunter played two seasons for the Razorbacks. In his freshman campaign, Mickelson averaged 5.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks a contest. He set the school record with 72 blocks.
This past season, the Westside alum once again led Arkansas with 39 blocks in 31 games. He averaged 5.5 points and 3.5 rebounds a contest.
Mickelson arrived in Fayetteville in 2011 after playing 4 seasons at Westside. He helped the Warriors win the 4A state championship in 2010, and a state runner-up finish in 2011. Hunter was a three-time all-state selection.
