The Williams Baptist College softball squad is once again in the top 5 of the NAIA national poll.  This is the fourth straight week the Lady Eagles sit at the fifth position in the top 25 rankings.

The team holds a record of 35-3 overall and 15-1 in the American Midwest Conference.  The .921 win percentage ranks second in the country. Williams holds a record of 7-1 against top 25 teams.

Williams has had win streaks of 21 and 11 this season and the team has won 57 of its last 62 games, dating back to last season.

WBC's pitching has a .92 earned run average and is holding opposing hitters to a .159 batting average.  Both of those statistics rank second in the NAIA.  The squad's .556 slugging percentage and .367 batting average sit at eighth and ninth place in the country.

The team has hit a total of 31 home runs this season with Shelby Anderson collecting a school record 12 of those.  The 31 home runs also mark a school record.

The Lady Eagles are outscoring opponents by a remarkable 285-49 margin.

WBC will travel to Henderson, Tenn., on April 23 for a doubleheader against Freed-Hardeman University.  FHU is ranked 22nd and first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
