Deputies investigating shooting in Kensett

KENSETT, AR (KAIT) – An early morning shooting sends one man to the hospital on Wednesday.

According to the White County Sheriff's Department, Kensett police were called to a home on Barnett Street around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The call was in reference to an altercation between Jerrel Thrasher and Dwight Branch at Thrasher's home.

An officer with the sheriff's department states that during the fight Branch was shot and taken to the White County Medical Center for treatment.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
