Phone tracking app leads to arrests in armed robbery

SEARCY, AR (KAIT) –Police have arrested two people in connection to an armed robbery after thevictims' phones tipped off officers.

According to Searcypolice, Dante Kyree Hardy, 19, of Searcy and another male suspect were arrestedon Wednesday night. Officers responded to a call of armed robbery at the 100block of North Charles Street.

The victims toldpolice they were walking back to their apartment when two males approachedthem. The unnamed suspect pulled out a revolver and told the victims to "emptytheir pockets", according to police.

Police say thevictims handed over their cell phones along with other undisclosed items. Thevictims then told police both phones had a tracking application on them.

The phones weretracked by police and a short time later a traffic stop was made.  Officers say they could hear the alarms goingoff on both phones as they approached the vehicle.

Hardy was arrestedfor aggravated robbery. He is being held on $50,000 bond in the White County DetentionCenter.

Police are notreleasing any information about the second suspect at this time because he is ajuvenile.
