Walnut Ridge, Ark. (WBC) – The Eagles from Williams Baptist College played the final American Midwest Conference series of the season over the weekend, losing all four games to the Pirates from Park University. The games were played at Park in Parkville, Mo.
Game one proved to be the most competitive in the series, as the Eagles lost 4-2. Paul Keen pitched a complete game for Williams, allowing five hits and three earned runs in six innings. WBC outhit Park 9-to-5, but none went for extra-bases. Also, WBC committed four costly errors defensively.
The Eagles were shut out in game two, 6-0. Mitchell Dennis, Tyler Williams and Jim Manney each had a single in the contest.
Williams dropped game three 15-4. The Pirates outhit the Eagles 14-to-7. Once again, all of WBC's hits were one base knocks. Tyler Williams went 2-for-4 in the contest.
WBC dropped the final game of the series 10-4. Cogan Ford provided a double for the Eagles. He also added a run scored and RBI in the contest. Blake Coffman, Kendall Fay, Aaron Jones and Ford all had two hits in the contest. Williams outhit Park 9-to-8 in the series finale.
The sweep dropped the Eagles' record to 14-38 overall and 6-22 in the AMC. WBC will play its final games of the season on Tuesday, April 23, taking on Victory University beginning at 1 p.m.
