Sheriff: Several Theft and Burglary reports leads to arrest

CLEBURNE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A man is behind bars after several incidents of burglary and theft were reported to the Sheriff's Department.

According to the Cleburne County Sheriff's Department, Michael Wayne Barnett of Heber Springs was arrested at a home on Cooterneck Road because he was believed to be trying to steal a car.

After an investigation of his recent activities, Barnett faces charges for Commercial Burglary, Residential Burglary and Theft of Property.

The additional charges were from separate incidents reported to the Sheriff's Office over the last few weeks.

He is currently being held in the Cleburne County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
