Felon arrested for stealing handgun

BAXTER CO, AR (KAIT) – A Baxter County man is in jail after authorities found a stolen gun in his home.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Office, deputies and Mountain Home police searched 35 year-old Terry Palmere's house on Shore Crest Drive in Mountain Home.

During the search, police say they found a handgun that had been reported stolen on April 24th from a house on Foster Street.

Palmere was named as a suspect in the theft. Police say they also received a tip indicating the gun was at his home.

According to a press release from the Baxter County Sheriff's office, he's been convicted of previous felony crimes and is banned from having a firearm.

He's in the Baxter County Jail on charges of residential burglary, property theft and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He's bond was set at $50,000. He'll appear in court on May 5th.
