Fourth ranked Lady Eagles Softball set to defend AMC Tournament Title starting Friday

From Williams Baptist College

For the fourth time in four years the Lady Eagles softball team from Williams Baptist College has won the American Midwest Conference championship. On Friday, April 26, the team will embark on its quest for a second consecutive AMC tournament championship.

Williams will host Harris-Stowe State University at the Lady Eagles softball field in a best-of-three series. The teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, beginning at 2 p.m. If a third game is required, it will begin at noon on Saturday, April 27.

The two teams met earlier in the season in St. Louis, Mo., at HSSU. The Lady Eagles stung the Hornets in both games 9-0. Both contests were run-ruled in five innings.

WBC earned the top seed in the tournament by winning the outright regular season title with a 16-2 conference record. The teams overall record is 36-4 and a fourth place ranking in the NAIA national poll. Harris-Stowe is the eighth seed in the bracket.
