Trumann FD: Boy falls in drain hole, breaks ankle and leg

TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) – The Fire Department confirmed the report of a boy who suffered minor injuries after falling into drain hole Sunday.

At around 3 p.m. an 11-year old boy was pulled from a 20-foot deep drain-hole with a broken leg and a broken ankle.

Trumann Fire Captain David Hicks said the boy and some of his friends squeezed through a chain link fence surrounding the Old Water and Sewer Treatment Plant.

Captain Hicks said they made their way to a locked room at the facility where access to a 20-foot deep drain pipe is located.

The boy fell in and was rescued minutes later.

He's now being treated at LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
