HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Hinds County Sheriff's Office, along with the Pearl Police Department, made two arrests after a vehicle was pulled over on Interstate 55 and a large load of marijuana was discovered in the car.

Frankie Paul Dills, 49, of Grandall, GA and 45-year-old Gwendolyn Faye Nicholas, of Signal Mountain, TN, were stopped while traveling on I-55 Sunday night. The two are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

The Hinds County Sheriff's Office says they made the bust working through a partnership with Pearl officers. A drug dog named Chappy discovered the drugs, which was a record setting night for HCSO.

Sheriff Tyrone Lewis says, "It was a large amount of marijuana, 166 lbs. with a street value of $200.00 per pound."

Lewis says the bust is a record for his administration.

Pearl Mayor Brad Rogers was on hand to talk about the partnership with the two departments working together.   "Drugs effect all aspects of our community from richest to poorest to everyone in between.  Anytime we get the opportunity to get drugs off the streets, we are excited to do that."
