BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Authorities have arrested a man suspected of passing fake money on Monday.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Office, Bradley Stowers, passed a phony 100-dollar bill while making a purchase at a Baxter county business.

They were able to tell the money was fake because it was missing the magnetic strip and did not meet government standards in the ink or the style of the paper.

Stowers had always received a check from his employers to purchase equipment for work.

The business found it awkward Stowers was using cash to buy his equipment since he always used the employer's check.

They contacted police and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Stowers is charged with forgery and misdemeanor property theft and is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center.

He was released after posting a five thousand dollar bond and will appear in court on May 2nd..
