Charges filed in 3 separate Stone Co. cases

STONE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Charges have been filed against three men in separate cases through the Stone County Circuit Court.

Leroy W. Davis of Rose Bud is facing two felony counts of theft of property of building materials over $500. The charges are from an incident on April 26. Stone County Sheriff's deputies investigated a theft on Highway 5 South near McMurray Road at a construction zone. Investigators say Davis had been to the site before and had taken steel. If convicted, Davis could spend 3 to 10 years in jail and receive a fine of up to $10,000. Bond for Davis was set at $10,000.

Byron L. Lovelady was charged with one count of felony residential burglary and two counts of theft of property. On April 15, a Mountain View home was burglarized and stripped of wiring and insulation which was later sold to a local recycling center. According to the Stone County Sheriff's Office, Lovelady confessed to the theft and burglary. His bond was set at $10,000.

Kelly Dale Bonds was charged with felony theft of services on Monday. The sheriff's office states Entergy Arkansas Inc. personnel discovered a device near the transformer servicing a home in Fox, AR. An investigation revealed Bonds had used a piece of metal to bypass the fuse system near the transformer in order to receive the power at his home, according to the sheriff's office. Bond was set at $5,000.
