Todd McShay: Jadeveon Clowney is top draft prospect in 2014

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

From the "news that should not surprise anyone" department, one half of the two-headed Draft expert beast that is ESPN's Todd McShay and Mel Kiper, Jr. says South Carolina junior defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is the top prospect in the 2014 NFL Draft.

In a column on ESPN's website, McShay says Clowney would have been the consensus number one pick in the Draft this year had he been able to declare.

"He possesses a rare blend of size, athleticism, upper-body power and playmaking instincts," said McShay.

McShay goes on to praise Clowney's tape when the Gamecocks defeated the Georgia Bulldogs last year, calling it a "dominant individual defensive performance".

But of course, Clowney still has one more year left in a Gamecocks uniform. Plenty can happen in a year.
