PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Police are investigating a road rage incident that left one person with minor injuries from glass fragments.

Captain Ryan Holder with the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department says two cars were traveling north on Interstate 55 Monday afternoon when a silver SUV passed a passenger at mile marker 14 and slammed on the brakes.

The passenger car crashed into the rear of the SUV. The victim in the passenger car thought they were going to exchange insurance information when the suspect got out of the SUV with a handgun and fired seven to eight shots into the car. The victim pulled away.

The suspect vehicle possibly exited at the 17 mile marker but it is unknown if the SUV went west or east. The caller continued northbound to the 19 mile marker where he was later able to talk to troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Four people were in the passenger car. They were treated on the scene for glass fragments from the shots fire.

Police are looking into surveillance video of an incident with a man in Arkansas.

At this point, authorities are looking for a silver SUV with Mississippi registration and possibly occupied by two black males.

The Missouri Highway Patrol, Pemiscot County Sheriff's Office and Caruthersville Police are searching.
