Hospital honors nurses as part of week-long celebration

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The whole staff at one hospital wanted to honor their nurses throughout the day Monday.

Hospital and clinic employees with NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital are celebrated what they call, "Nurses Day".

People gathered together for lunch today to honor the nurses.

Danna Barkley is the Director at the Medical Surgical Services in the hospital and she admires the work nurses provide.

"It's a great morale booster for the nurses and just lets them know how much we appreciate them and all the hard work they do to take good care of our patients and our families, said Barkley.

This is an annual event and a part of their "Hospital Week" celebration.

Other activities and events were planned throughout the week.
