JPD: Search for Forgery suspect, find her under mattress

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Police search for woman in reference to a Forgery charge, but end up arresting another man on several drug related charges Saturday.

According to JPD, they were looking for Christina Clark in reference to a charge of Forgery. After stopping by her, workplace they attempted to locate her at a suspected drug house.

One of the officers approached the apartment and knocked on the door. Police say someone came out the door and was making quick hand gestures.

When he was asked to step outside the residence officers say they saw a baggie fall from his hand.

23-year-old Johnny Gutierrez of Jonesboro was placed in handcuffs but claim that everyone inside was sleeping.

After someone came to the door in non-sleeping attire they asked to search the residence. Then Consent for a warrant was placed and police searched the apartment.

They found a woman and a small child sleeping.

When officers saw the mattress where the woman was sleeping on they noticed a part of the bed was sticking up.

An officer proceeded to lift the mattress and saw Clark hiding.

According to the police report, Clark told authorities she was "hiding". She said she wasn't hiding from police but from him, someone police have yet to identify.

Johnny Gutierrez was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substances, including Meth and Xanax with intent to deliver, Tampering Physical Evidence, and Furnishing Prohibited Articles inside a Correctional Facility.

No bond has been set at the time of the report and awaits a probable cause hearing.
