Batesville man arrested after robbing restaurant, attempted to rob another

BATESVILLE, AR(KAIT) – The Independence County Sheriff's Department arrested one man afterreceiving a call of a robbery.

According to thesheriff's department, officers were called to Hardee's around 11:30 Tuesdaynight. An employee at the restaurant told them a man, later identified byofficers as Curtis Watson of Batesville, demanded money in the registers. Theemployee said Watson also had one hand in his jacket to make it look like hehad a weapon. He made off with about $270 in cash, officers stated.

While investigatingthe incident at Hardee's, Watson was spotted just down the road at Taco Bell.According to officers, Watson attempted to rob that restaurant, but he left whilethe manager was being called to the front.

Watson was laterarrested on two counts of felony aggravated robbery early Wednesday morning.  No weapon was recovered by officers and noinjuries were reported.

He is currently inthe Independence County Jail.
