Students participate in annual Ram Run

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Students from some Region 8 schools are encouraging their parents to be physically fit.

Elementary students in the Paragould School District spent part of their day, on Wednesday, participating in this year's annual "Ram Run".

Classes ran or walked around the track surrounding the Paragould Football Field.

Parents say they love getting to do something active with their children. "It's just exciting as parents to be able to come out here and run with your kids and just watch them be healthy.  It's just exciting." said Gary Gossett.

Shannon Freeman says he thinks it is great the school not only encourages the activity, but his daughter Maggie gets to socialize with other children while exercising. "The camaraderie of all the elementary schools.  There are three schools so they all come together.  So, Maggie sees friends from other elementary schools that they all join together as a whole school district."

After they completed the track, the kids got to participate in a variety of fun activities.
