Names released in Caruthersville murder investigation

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT/KFVS)- Caruthersville police have made three arrests during the investigation into the death of a man found shot in his vehicle last week.

According to the Caruthersville Police Department, 36-year-old Tyrone Tilson, 21-year-old Dedrick Tilson, and 27-year-old Frank Rogers Jr., have been charged with 1st degree murder and armed criminal action in the murder of Rodney Maxwell.

Officers initially responded to a car accident in the 300 block of East 7th Street on May 10 where Maxwell's vehicle had crashed into a tree.

According to Caruthersville Police Chief Tony Jones, Rodney Maxwell was found dead slumped over the steering wheel with a gun shot wound.

Maxwell's wife, Shannon Maxwell, says he was 33 years old. Maxwell had three children, a 14-year-old daughter, 12-year-old son, and a 7-month-old son.

"I have an emptiness that needs filling and wants to know why anyone would do this," Shannon said. "He was a great father and will never get to hear his youngest son call him daddy now."
